The Glasgow music scene is always churning out amazing bands, and in 2014, Little Eye appeared in the picture with their debut album "Fighting The Future". I was lucky enough to have the chance to talk to the guys about recent releases, plans for this year, and how the band started!

CB – Hi guys! Thanks for taking the time to chat to me today! For those who haven’t heard of Little Eye, could you give us a wee introduction?
Little Eye - Hi Catriona, we are a 4 piece rock band from Glasgow, Scotland and we released our debut album in 2014 called “Fighting the Future”. Our musical influences range from bands like Foo Fighters & Paramore to the likes of Michael Jackson and Prince!
CB – I saw that your new single “Something Out of Nothing” dropped earlier this month! How has the reaction to that been so far?
Little Eye - We released Something out of Nothing on iTunes to our fans on Social Media and the reaction has been amazing. We feel that we are really finding our sound now and developing as song writers in a direction we are really happy with and thank fully all of our fans agree haha. Something out of Nothing will be going to radio later in the month and we will also be releasing a music video for it soon after and hopefully we get a good reaction from people who are yet to hear us too!!
CB – Whenever you guys are in the studio, how does a normal session go when you are recording? Talk us through the process?
Little Eye - One of our favourite things to do is being in the studio creating new music. We are lucky enough to have a very experienced and talented musician as our producer, Geoff Dugmore. He makes the process very fun and rewarding, and he always gets the best out of us and our songs. We spend a bit of time in pre production before we head into the studio so the songs are in the best shape before we enter the recording process. We build the track from the drums up so we start by getting drum sounding great. We always track the drums as a band to add a ‘real feel’ to the song. After the drums takes are done we add the bass guitar followed by guitars which there are usually loads of!!! and finally vocals.
CB – You’re based in Glasgow, yeah? How do you find the music scene there?
Little Eye - Glasgow has always been a very prolific producer of bands. There have been so many bands come out of Glasgow that have gone on to be big selling artists and so many more that were good enough but for one reason or another never got there. So to be a part of such a vibrant scene is very exciting.
CB – How did the band first form? Did you know each other from school?
Little Eye - The band was formed by lead singer Allan who after an inspiring trip to New York City named the band Little Eye. On his return to Scotland he met drummer Jay who joined the band and recommended guitar player Euan who he met at a gig in Glasgow and finally bass player Marcus joined shortly after. One of the benefits of the Glasgow music scene being so vibrant and close nit!
CB – Who would you say are your biggest inspirations in terms of your music?
Little Eye - Between the 4 members of the band we have quite an eclectic taste in music, we all really love a great song no matter the genre. If i had to name key influences for the band it would have to be Foo Fighters, Michael Jackson & Paramore.
CB – Do you have any festivals/gigs planned for 2016, or any new releases?
Little Eye - We are playing the Isle of Wight festival for the 3rd year in a row this year, then we are touring mainland Europe again playing festivals and music venues around Germany, France and Luxembourg. Stay posted on Social Media for updates! We are releasing a follow up single to Something out of Nothing in the middle of the summer, but that’s all i can say just now, it’s got to remain unnamed for now!
CB – Finally, do you have anything that you want to say to your fans?
Little Eye - We really appreciate the support we get from all of our fans all over the world. To know that people are listening to AND enjoying our music puts a massive smile on our faces.
